Bodycam: Ky. Trooper Pulls 4 From Burning SUV After Rollover Crash

A Kentucky State Police trooper climbed through the windshield of a burning SUV to rescue four trapped family members after a rollover crash in Hardin County.

What to Know

  • A Kentucky State Police trooper rescued four members of a Louisville family after their SUV rolled multiple times and caught fire along Interstate 65 in Hardin County.
  • Investigators said a tractor-trailer forced the Honda CR-V off the roadway when the semi merged into the vehicle's lane, causing the SUV to leave the shoulder and overturn.
  • Trooper Blaine Miller arrived as the vehicle began burning, climbed through the windshield and helped remove all four occupants, who suffered only minor injuries.

Miller arrived almost immediately, as the C-RV was beginning to catch fire and “breached the front windshield of the vehicle, climbed inside, and assisted in removing all four occupants from the vehicle to safety,” the release stated.

All four were treated for minor injuries before being released from Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.
