Video: Okla. Police Use Drone, Robot to End Armed Standoff

Oklahoma police used a drone and tactical robot to apprehend a gunman hiding behind a shed during a standoff last month.

The incident happened at around 5:30 p.m. April 8 when Oklahoma City police responded to a domestic disturbance, KOCO-TV reports. At the scene, officers found a man, identified as Charles Henry Jr., inside a parked truck and tried to make contact with him.

That's when Henry, carrying a rifle, exited his vehicle and walked to a home. He then pointed his rifle at police, and an officer opened fire.

No one was struck by the gunfire, and Henry fled on foot. He ran into a backyard and hid behind a shed.

A drone was deployed, and officers evacuated nearby homes as a standoff ensued. After the drone located Henry from above, a tactical robot was deployed, leading to Henry's surrendered.

Henry was taken into custody, and he faces three counts of feloniously pointing a firearm.

No officers were injured in the shooting. The incident is under investigation.
