Redmond, WA, U.S.A., July 17, 2014 – Zetron, RELM Wireless, and Spectra Engineering have completed successful joint testing of Zetron’s Advanced Communications (AcomEVO) console system utilizing the TIA Project 25 (P25) Digital Fixed Station Interface (DFSI) to connect to RELM Wireless and Spectra Engineering’s DFSI-based repeaters and base stations.
The extensive testing confirmed that these solutions working together through the DFSI deliver higher levels of subscriber-unit feature control, including Incoming Status Display, Radio Call Alert (with acknowledgments), Radio Check, Radio Status Check, Radio Monitor, and Radio Enable/Disable.
“Zetron is pleased that our partnerships with RELM Wireless and Spectra Engineering have yielded such positive results,” said Zetron Vice President of Product Management, Kathy Broadwell. “The success of these tests provides further proof that partnering with other manufacturers to create compatible, P25-based solutions offers great value to our respective companies as well as our customers. Everyone benefits when our products become more functional and interoperable and give customers more flexibility in their choice of equipment.”
"RELM is pleased to provide repeaters and base stations which implement the Project 25 Digital Fixed Station Interface," said David Storey, President and CEO of RELM Wireless. "Utilizing the P25 consensus industry standard provides our public-safety customers access to a feature-rich product without necessitating a proprietary architecture or sole-source procurement process."
