Durabook Upgrades Their R11 Rugged Tablet To Be More Powerful For Use In The Field
Fremont, CA – February 26, 2019 – Durabook Americas, Inc., the North American subsidiary of Twinhead International Corporation, has upgraded its fully rugged R11 tablet. The acclaimed device now features an Intel® 8th Generation CPU, Intel UHD 620 graphics processor, DDR4 memory, Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 9260, and Bluetooth V5. For transportation and logistics companies, field service organizations, and government agencies that have come to rely on the Durabook R11 in the most demanding conditions, the improvements create a more powerful and reliable field computing tool.
“Our customers are demanding more and more from their rugged devices,” said Joe Guest, President, Durabook Americas. “They need reliability and computing power, but also a device that is highly portable. Deployed in mission-critical applications around the world, the R11 has earned its reputation as one of the most impressive devices in its class. With an 8th generation Intel CPU and advanced Intel graphics, it offers more computing power than the Toughbook G1 or the Getac F110. At only 2.7 lbs. and 0.78” thick, it’s one of the thinnest and lightest fully rugged tablets available. The R11 has been a customer-driven device since its inception and these upgrades will ensure it continues to meet their demands.”
Powerful Field Computing
The upgraded Durabook R11 features 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i5 and i7 processors options, an Intel® UHD Graphics 620 GPU, 8 to 16GB of DDR4 memory and 128, 256, and 512GB SATA SSD options. The device also features Windows® 10 Pro, the most secure Windows ever. Windows® 10 meets the security needs of today’s connected business by offering a layered defense to help protect, detect and respond to security threats.
Maximum Connectivity
Because connectivity is a critical component of mobile worker performance and value, the upgraded R11 features an Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 9260 WiFi card with a maximum speed of 1.73Gbps (200% faster than AC 8265), Bluetooth 5.0, which delivers 8x greater bandwidth than Bluetooth 4.2, and an optional 4G LTE-Advanced multi-carrier mobile broadband module.
Longer Life and Exception Durability
The Durabook R11 now offers up to 16 hours of battery life so field workers can maintain productivity through a full shift. With its IP65 rating and MIL-STD-810G certification for drop, shock, vibration, dust, sand, explosive atmosphere, high/low temperature, and more, plus ANSI 12.12.01 C1D2 certification, the device is ready for the most demanding work environments.
The R11 features an 11.6' FHD (1920 x 1080) sunlight readable LCD with Durabook’s proprietary DynaVue® technology which creates increased clarity and viewability in challenging lighting conditions without sacrificing battery life. The 10-point capacitive multi-touch panel can be used with a glove, stylus, or finger, even if the screen is wet, optimizing the device’s usability regardless of work conditions.
Multiple Configurations
The Durabook R11 has multiple configurations available, including a barcode scanner, optional contactless SmartCard/CAC reader, insertable smartcard reader and RJ45 options.
