The CriticalPoint Class B BDA, which will also be available in either AC or 48VDC versions, will be an option for those sites that allow or require Class B public safety communications. Typically Class B public safety communication amplifiers are lower in cost than Class A amplifiers. The main difference between the Class A vs. a Class B device is channel filtering with Class B devices is accomplished on a broadband or wideband basis. In fact, there are some jurisdictions that prefer Class B amplifiers for public safety communications, so Comba Telecom's new offering will be welcomed by those jurisdictions.
"The addition of the Class B and DC public safety BDAs will allow Comba Telecom to penetrate and gain market share in the fast growing public safety communications space," says Steven Cheng, Comba's Public Safety Product Manager.
