CHICAGO -- Motorola Solutions announced the release of CommandCentral RMS, a cloud-native records and case management platform designed to consolidate investigative data and accelerate case processing for law enforcement agencies.

The system is built to centralize records, evidence, and reporting tools into a single interface, allowing officers and investigators to manage cases more efficiently from initial call intake through investigation. The platform is powered by the company’s artificial intelligence capability, Assist, which is designed to automate administrative tasks and support investigative workflows.

According to the company, CommandCentral RMS integrates with its digital evidence management system, CommandCentral DEMS, to bring together key data sources, including officer reports, computer-aided dispatch (CAD) data, 911 audio and transcripts, radio communications, video evidence, field notes, and witness statements. This consolidation is intended to reduce the need for officers to navigate multiple systems when building cases.

Sheriff Kevin McMahill of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the agency is using the platform to reduce administrative workload and keep officers focused on community policing.

“Our priority is keeping our officers in the community, not sitting behind a desk doing paperwork,” McMahill said. “We're unifying our investigative intelligence with CommandCentral RMS and automating mundane administrative tasks with Assist to fundamentally change how our officers spend their time. Now, from the moment a 911 call comes in through to when it’s being investigated, AI works in the background across our technologies to improve workflows and create efficiencies, helping us close cases faster and keep Las Vegas safer.”

The platform also connects with the CommandCentral Responder mobile application, enabling patrol officers to search records and submit reports in real time while in the field. This capability is intended to support continuous information sharing without requiring officers to return to a station to complete documentation.

Motorola Solutions said Assist can generate draft reports, produce searchable transcripts, and automate document redaction. In one reported case, the company said an agency reduced redaction time from 35 hours to one using the system. The company added that Assist maintains audit logs of its outputs and data sources to support transparency and accountability in AI-assisted workflows.

Todd Piett, senior vice president of Command Center and Cloud Solutions at Motorola Solutions, said the system is designed to serve as a core investigative platform for agencies seeking to modernize records management and case handling.

“We designed CommandCentral RMS to be a foundational platform, powered by Assist, to accelerate investigations,” Piett said. “Unifying records and automating time-intensive case management processes helps agencies resolve cases faster and bring justice to more families sooner.”

Motorola Solutions plans to showcase CommandCentral RMS at its Summit 2026 public safety technology conference, scheduled for April 20–22 in Orlando.
