Security and body camera footage relased last week captures a woman opening fire inside a Florida police station before she was fatally shot by officers.

Linda Croteau died Friday from the injuries she suffered when Port Orange police shot her Thursday after she fired a shot inside a station, according to a department social media post. The post also contained video of the incident. 

In the footage, Croteau enters the Port Orange police station lobby with a handgun and points it at employees. She then fires toward an evidence room where staff were. 

Footage from an exterior security camera shows Croteau putting her gun on the ground and laying down next to it. While officers order her to surrender, she sits up and grabs her gun.

After officers confront her, she exits the station lobby and walks toward the parking lot. Outside, officers repeatedly order her to drop her gun.

That's when officers opened fire. Croteau was struck and rushed to the hospital, where she died a day later.

"We support our officers and their actions in this dynamic and rapidly evolving situation to help keep members of the public and our staff safe," the department stated in the social media post.

The shooting is under investigation.
