Officer Down: Deputy Sheriff Samuel Leonard

TEXAS-Deputy Sheriff Samuel Leonard, of the Concho County Sheriff's Office, died May 10, 2021. Deputy Leonard responded with another deputy to a call regarding a dog. An altercation ensued and the suspect fatally shot both deputies, and wounded a city employee. He then barricaded himself inside the home. The mayor later talked the suspect into surrendering. The suspect has been charged with two counts of capital murder.
