Officer Down: Deputy Sheriff Thomas Patrick Barnes

MISSISSIPPI-Deputy Sheriff Thomas Patrick Barnes, of the Jefferson Davis County Sheriff's Department, died April 10, 2021. Deputy Barnes was responding to a domestic violence call at a hotel. He was responding to the call as a backup for the Prentiss Police Department. Deputy Barnes patrol car left the roadway and struck a tree. 

Deputy Barnes served as a part-time officer with the Prentiss PD in addition to working for the Jefferson David County Sheriff's Department. 

He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchild.
