Officer Down: Senior Master Trooper Todd A. Hanneken

ILLINOIS-Senior Master Trooper Tood A. Hanneken, of the Illinois State Police, died March 25, 2021. Hanneken was killed in a single-vehicle crash. Hanneken's patrol car left the roadway and hit a utility pole and a tree at around 10:45 in the morning.
Hanneken was 45 years-old and is survived by his wife, children. His father served with the Illinois State Police as well.

Hilary Rodela is currently a Surveillance Officer, a former Private Investigator, a former Crime Scene Investigator, and Evidence Technician. She worked for the Ruidoso (NM) Police Department as well as the Lubbock (TX) Police Department. Hilary is a freelance public safety writer and curriculum developer for the National Investigative Training Academy.
