Articles

Offset is something one needs to know about when using optics. It can be learned on the range simply by having officers shoot through apertures in barricades. Or, it can be learned the hard way by having them shoot around their own patrol cars. The cars with the heat divots and holes in the hoods are the ones from officers who didn’t take offset into account. Remember, the bullet does not leave the muzzle at the same plane as the sighting plane.
Used correctly, red dot optics can be beneficial for law enforcement officers in the field.
