A Massachusetts State Police cruiser burst into flames following a crash Monday.
The incident happened just before 3 p.m. as a trooper was driving in Northfield, WWLP-TV reports. The right front tire of the cruiser—a 2014 Ford Explorer—drifted onto the shoulder as the trooper negotiated a curve.
The trooper wasn't able to return to the roadway and struck a utility police. After the impact, the cruiser caught fire.
The trooper was uninjured in the crash, which is under investigation.
