Video: Driver Jumps Off Freeway to Flee San Diego Police During Chase

When a San Diego police officer tried to make a seat belt violation stop, the driver sped away and eventually tried to elude authorities by jumping 30 to 40 feet off the side of a freeway.
A man was injured after jumping off a freeway to escape San Diego police during a car chase Tuesday.
The incident happened shortly before 3 p.m. as a San Diego police officer tried to stop the driver of a white Mercedes-Benz for a seat belt violation, KGTV-TV reports. The driver fled and eventually ended up traveling the wrong way on the freeway.
Pulling over, the driver got out of his car and leapt down the side of the freeway. He fell between 30 to 40 feet and suffered injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
A woman and a small dog were also in the car, and she was questioned by investigators. No one else was injured in the incident.
