HASTINGS, Florida -- A St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy was seriously injured early Monday in a single-vehicle crash in Hastings, according to the agency.
The crash occurred shortly after 4 a.m. on County Road 13 South near Hub Bailey Road. The deputy sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by St. Johns County Fire Rescue to Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, officials said in a news release.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined. The sheriff’s office said the deputy’s identity will not be released at this time out of respect for the deputy and their family.
Authorities reported no road closures or traffic delays in the area following the crash. The incident remains under review.
