A wild pursuit in Ohio was caught on video as state troopers chased down a semi-truck driver who was swerving through traffic after allegedly pointing a gun at a mechanic last week.
The chase began May 11 when Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers responded to a report of a truck driver who pulled a gun on a car repair worker in Granger Township in Medina County, WJW-TV reports. Troopers caught up with the tractor-trailer and found it on the shoulder of Interstate 271 near Interstate 71.
Before troopers could check on anyone inside the vehicle, the driver unhooked the vehicle's trailer and sped off. A chase ensued through Summit County, and Richfield police deployed stop sticks ahead of the fleeing vehicle.
The semi crashed into one of the Richfield cruisers, missing any officers. The armed driver then jumped out of the semi and tried to elude police on foot in a wooded area.
Police finally found the driver unconscious at the bottom of a steep ravine. His weapon also was found with him.
The 47-year-old driver was taken to the hospital and faces multiple charges.
