The FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. Names New Association President Scott Dumas

The Executive Board of FBI National Academy Associates announced the swearing in of Mr. Scott Dumas, Chief of Police for the Rowley Police Department of Rowley, Massachusetts as incoming President during the annual training conference in Washington, DC.

The Executive Board of FBI National Academy Associates announced the swearing in of Mr. Scott Dumas, Chief of Police for the Rowley Police Department of Rowley, Massachusetts as incoming President during the annual training conference in Washington, DC, on August 2, 2017. Chief Dumas succeeds now Past President Joey Reynolds, former Police Chief of the Bluffton Police Department in Bluffton, SC.

In his annual conference address, Chief Dumas stated "The FBI is not broken. The FBI National Academy Associates is not broken. Law Enforcement is not broken. What members of the FBI do, what members of the National Academy Associates do, and what the members of law enforcement do is we lead. And we do it willingly and we do it without fear."

Before being named Chief of Police in Rowley, Massachusetts, Mr. Dumas worked for the Rochester, NH Police Department where he rose to the rank of Deputy Chief during his twenty-one year career with Rochester PD. He has also held ranking positions within the Executive Board of the FBI National Academy Associates over the past seven years and will serve as President for a twelve-month term. He will then serve a final year as the Association's Past President. Chief Dumas is an active member of the FBINAA New England Chapter and is a proud graduate of the 226th Session of the prestigious FBI National Academy Training Program.

During his career, Chief Dumas has managed/performed varied functions throughout the agencies he has worked for to include: investigative services, fiscal management, accident reconstruction, public information officer, evidence, communications, internal affairs, motor vehicle and patrol division. Dumas has held instructor certifications in firearms, weapons of mass destruction, Incident Command and Citizens Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE).

Chief Dumas holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University at Montgomery in Justice and Public Safety. He also has a Master of Arts degree in Administrative Leadership from the University of Oklahoma, an Academic Alliance of the FBI National Academy Associates.

The FBINAA looks forward to the leadership of Chief Dumas as he plans to re-focus the commitment to the Association members and Association partners to ensure there is a realized return on investment.
