A Sandy Police Department SWAT team member and a civilian were injured in a shooting while authorities were serving a search warrant.
A Utah police officer and a civilian were wounded in a shooting while a SWAT team was serving a warrant early Wednesday.
The incident happened at about 5 a.m. as Sandy police were serving a search warrant at an apartment, KSL-TV reports. Gunfire broke out, and a SWAT team member and a person inside the apartment were struck.
The officer and the civilian were both taken to the hospital in stable condition. Their injuries weren't considered life-threatening.
Police did not release details on what the search warrant concerned.
