A gunman who barricaded himself in a home in Trenton, New Jersey surrendered after a 35-hour standoff that left one person dead and three police officers wounded.
Tyleeb Reese exited the residence on the 300 block of Centre Street without a shirt on around 5 p.m. and was taken into custody by authorities, according to NJ.com.
Negotiators communicated through a loud speaker with the 35-year-old for over 24 hours.
At 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Reese called the Trenton police dispatch center and told 911 operators he was going to surrender. A short time later, officials announced an end to the standoff.
The standoff began after a U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force attempted to serve the man warrant Wednesday morning related to a Megan's Law offense.
Authorities said Reese opened fire, killing neighbor Robert Powell Jr. and wounding three Mercer County Sheriff's officers. The officers received non-life-threatening injuries and are currently recovering.
The incident remains under communication.
