2 Mich. Police Officers, Suspect Wounded in Shooting

After responding to a residence to follow up on a previous crime, Lansing police detectives called for backup, and an exchange of gunfire ensued, wounding two officers and a suspect.

Two Michigan police officers were shot Wednesday in an exchange of gunfire with a suspect, who also was wounded.

The shooting happened at about 11:15 a.m. when Lansing police detectives responded to a residence to investigate a previous crime, WILX-TV reports. While at the scene, detectives called for backup, and a shooting ensued, leaving two officers and the suspect wounded.

The officers and the suspect were rushed to the hospital, and their injuries weren't considered life-threatening. The suspect was arrested in the incident, and charges are pending.

The shooting is under investigation.
