Mo. Police Officer Shot, Wounded at Airport

A Kansas City International Airport police officer was taken to the hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening following a shooting at the airport.

Kansas City International Airport police officer was injured in a shooting early Friday at the airport, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department said.

The officer was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening, said Sgt. Jake Becchina, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department.

The shooting occurred about 5 a.m. near Bern Street and Cookingham Drive. Further details were not immediately available.
