Massachusetts Police Lieutenant Dies After Suffering Medical Emergency at Station

PEPPERELL, Massachusetts -- A Pepperell police lieutenant died on Sunday, Aug. 8 after suffering a medical emergency at the police station.
Lt. Alan Lessieur, who was 60 years old, joined the Pepperell Police Department in 1989. He also worked as a member of the Milford Police Department in New Hampshire and previously served as a member of the U.S. Air Force.
“We are all deeply saddened by Alan’s passing. He possessed a unique combination of dedication, leadership and compassion, and had a unique way of connecting with co-workers and strangers alike,” Pepperell Police Chief David Scott said in a statement. “We will miss his bellowing laughter during morning roll call, his endless supply of movie quotes, and his commitment and dedication to the community.”
Details about a memorial service will be provided as they become available.
Visiting hours will be held at Our Lady of Grace Parish worshipping at St. Joseph’s Church, 28 Tarbell St. Pepperell, Massachusetts on Friday, Aug. 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. 8 p.m. Funeral services and interment will be private.
