Mass. Police Officer Dies after Collapsing Suddenly

Cohasset police are mourning the death of a member of the force who died suddenly on Friday, leaving behind his wife and children, officials announced.
Officer Mark Jenkins died late Friday afternoon after he collapsed while with coworkers, Chief William Quigley wrote on Facebook. CPR and life-saving measures were unsuccessful.
“While our hearts are filled with sorrow, they are also filled with love, as we help Mark’s wife and children with final arrangements. Please say a prayer for the Jenkins family,” Quigley wrote.
Jenkins was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division and worked as a police computer forensics expert for our department and the United States Coast Guard Investigative Service.
“We thank the City of Quincy emergency services and the staff of the Carney Hospital for their heroic efforts to save our beloved Mark,” the chief said.
Arrangements will be announced as soon as they are final.
