During the assualt, Robinson tried to take the deputy's Taser before using his radio cord to try to strangle him. During the struggle, Waugh fled the scene, while the deputy was able to free himself.

Robinson was arrested when more deputies arrived at the home. A search began for Waugh, and K-9s and drones from the New Braunfels Police Department were used, but they couldn't find the suspect.

After the struggle, the deputy was rushed to the hospital. He suffered minor injuries and was later released.

Waugh had warrants issued for attempted disarming of a peace officer, resisting arrest and evading arrest or detention in connection with the incident. The Guadalupe County Fugitive Apprehension Unit and Patrol Division located Waugh, and he was apprehended Monday morning. 

Deputies arrested Robinson for aggravated assault on a public servant and interference with public duties. 

The incident is under investigation.
