Washington Sheriff's Deputy, Off-Duty Officer Rescue Girl From Fiery Wreck

A Pierce County Sheriff's deputy and an off-duty Tukwila police officer are being credited with saving the life of a young girl following a fiery crash over the weekend.

GRAHAM, Washington -- A Pierce County Sheriff's deputy and an off-duty Tukwila police officer are being credited with saving the life of a young girl following a fiery crash over the weekend. 

Officers responded to a rear-end motor vehicle collision around 5 p.m. Saturday at the 8200 block of 224th Street East in Graham, according to a news release.

The vehicles burst into flames shortly after the collision and both officers used a fire extinguisher to knock down the flames. They then broke the back window out and cut the seat belt to save the unconscious 11-year-old girl before the flames engulfed the vehicle
