SAN ANTONIO -- A Kendall County Sheriff's deputy rescued a woman from a fiery wreck early Friday morning.

The deputy observed a driver speeding along IH-10 MM 545 East and noted that the car appeared to be weaving in and out of traffic, according to KENS-TV.

While attempting to pull the car over, the driver exited Fair Oaks Parkway and turned onto Tarpon Drive where she hit a tree, causing the vehicle to go up in flames.

The deputy was able to pull the woman out of the car before she was seriously injured.

After being medically cleared at the scene, the driver, identified as Jennifer Hernandez, was arrested for "evading arrest or detention," according to officials.
