Sirius Dog Run - An Officer's Memorial

Sept. 11, 2013

This is one of the more unique items surrounding 9/11 I've come across.

"Sirius Dog Run"

"This DOG RUN is named in honor of PAPD K-9 Sirius #17. He was a four year old yellow Labrador Retriever who served as an explosives detector canine for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Sirius lost his life during the World Trade Center attacks of September 11, 2001. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him an all that knew of him. He will be especially missed by his partner and friend, PAPD Sgt. David W. Lim #229."

As a dog owner myself, this speaks to me.

Stay safe, and thank you.
