Illinois State Police released footage showing an O’Fallon police officer fatally shooting a 53-year-old man after he advanced toward the officer while holding a knife and refusing commands to drop it.

The shooting occurred Aug. 29 during a reported disturbance involving a knife, and two people fled the scene with stab and cut wounds.
