Watch Hawaii Police Evacuate Residents During Rampaging Wildfire

Body camera footage shows Maui police officers rushing door to door and urging residents to leave the town of Lahaina during wildfires that tore through the island in August.

Police officers rushed to get residents to safety as wildfires raged across Hawaii in August, recently released body camera footage shows.

The videos captured Maui police going house to house to alert citizens and evacuate them from the town of Lahaina, CBS News reports. One officer is seen using a garden hose to douse the spreading flames.

"This town is on fire. Multiple have died," an officer can be heard saying in the video. "We don't want everybody to die."

At least 99 people were killed and six people reported missing from the wildfires that tore through Lahaina.
