A 23-year-old man is accused of brandishing a knife and attacking two people in a public transit station in Los Angeles' Koreatown neighborhood before LAPD officers shot and wounded the suspect.

The LAPD released body camera and surveillance footage of police officers taking down a man who was brandishing a knife in a public transit station last month.

The incident happened May 2 when LAPD officers responded to a report of a knife-wielding man—later identified as Mason Swenor, 23—walking around a Metro station in Los Angeles' Koreatown neighborhood, KABC-TV reports. Swenor allegedly stabbed a man in the shoulder and struck a woman in the head.

When officers encountered Swenor, the suspect fled, and police continued to pursue him through the station and outside to a parking lot. The suspect was ordered to stop and surrender, but he did not comply and charged at officers, who opened fire.

Swenor was struck by the gunfire but survived. He was arrested and is being held on $2.155 million bond.
