Watch Ohio Police Confront Man Accused of Fatally Stabbing Mom

An Ohio police officer shot and wounded a suspect accused of fatally stabbing his after the man charged at police with a knife Tuesday.

Miami Township police responded to a call of a stabbing at a home that had a history of calls, WKRC-TV reports. When they arrived, they found Melissa Amburgy stabbed multiple times. She later died from her injuries.

Her son, Josh Amburgy, was identified as the attacker, and he had fled the scene. A resident called police after seeing Amburgy on a nearby patio.

Officers confronted Amburgy and ordered hm to drop the knife he was holding. Amburgy then charged at an officer, who shot twice, hitting him once in the leg. 

The confrontation was captured on a body camera, and the footage was released Wednesday.

Following the shooting, officers handcuffed Amburgy and applied a tourniquet. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
