Watch: Fleeing Fla. Suspect Dives Through Glass Window and Into the Arms of Police

A Wisconsin police officer's body camera captured a deer jumping out an apartment window as police were responding to a call of the animal in a unit.

The wildlife encounter happened shortly after 5 p.m. Oct. 20 when Appleton police received a report of a deer that got into an apartment by jumping through a window, the department stated in a social media post that included body camera footage. While officers were checking the exterior of the apartment, the deer bolted through another window and scampered off.

Police said the deer didn't appear injured, and officers spoke with the landlord and resident, who wasn't home at the time, to make sure there weren't other issues inside the apartment.

"While a deer entering an apartment is certainly unusual, increased deer movement this time of year is not," the department stated.

"A reminder that this time of year, deer can turn up in unexpected places," the department added. "More importantly, they can turn up unexpectedly in front of your vehicle."
