Watch Conn. Police Officers Save Distraught Woman on Ledge

New Haven police officers pulled a distressed woman away from the ledge of a parking structure roof and talked to her while they waited for medics to arrive.

Body camera footage captured two Connecticut police officers rescuing a distraught woman from the ledge of a parking garage roof last week.

The incident happened just before 5:50 p.m. as New Haven police responded to a call at a parking structure, the New Haven Independent reports. When officers reached the scene, they found a distressed woman perched on the ledge of the garage's roof.

The officers pulled the woman began talking as they waited for medics.

“You’re OK sweetheart,” an officer is heard telling the woman in the video. “What’s going on? You can talk to us. We’re here for you, OK?”

Medics eventually arrived and took the woman to the hospital.
