Watch Atlanta Police Use Tourniquets to Save Gunshot Victim

Fast-acting Atlanta police officers applied tourniquets to a possible road rage victim who was shot in the shoulder by another driver.

Body camera video captured Atlanta police officers quickly applying tourniquets to save a gunshot victim last month.

The shooting happened just after 12:10 a.m. July 31, the Atlanta Police Department stated in an online post. When officers reached the scene, they found a man with an apparent gunshot wound to the shoulder.

Quick-acting officers applied tourniquets to the man and waited for medics to arrive. The man was conscious and alert as he was taken to the hospital.

The man told police that the shooting was the result of a possible road rage incident with another driver that escalated to gunfire. The shooting is under investigation.
