Editor’s Note: Please read Part One of this series and Part Two of this series to get the necessary background information about the university, the attacker, Seung Hui Cho, and the earlier events of the morning of the attack before reading this installment.
At 9:26 a.m. the university disseminates an email notifying the students, staff and faculty of the shootings at West Ambler Johnson hall. Twenty minutes after the email alert is released, at 9:46 a.m., the first 911 call comes in from Norris Hall for shots fired. There is some small debate over how long Cho was shooting within the building before the 911 call was made. Additionally, according to the Review Panel report, Cho had chained all the doors shut by 9:30.
