Virginia Tech Attack, Part Two

May 3, 2017
This is the second in our series about the attack at Virginia Tech in 2007. Part one is linked in this article. This is a examination of the morning of the attack prior to events that transpired at Norris Hall.

Editor’s Note: Please read Part One of this series to get the necessary background information about both the university and the attacker, Seung Hui Cho, before reading this installment.

In February of 2007 Cho bought his first handgun. He bought the second one in March of ’07. Throughout those two months he purchased extra magazines and ammunition for them. On March 31st he purchased the chains used to barricade Norris Hall from Home Depot. His planning and preparation are obvious. As early as February 2nd, 2007 when he purchased the Walther P22 .22lr handgun online (and it was delivered through an FFL holder local to Virginia Tech) Cho was planning his mass attack.
