Not only has technology empowered law enforcement to perform certain parts of investigations faster, but it has also allowed the immediate sharing of information - of all types - by anyone who has internet access.  Law enforcement agencies are leveraging this "instant access" to information in many ways to include:

  • sharing timely information with the communities they serve
  • using social media sites as investigative tools in criminal investigations
  • using social media sites as investigative tools in the hiring process
  • using social medai site as investigative tools in adminstrative/internal investigations

Join Officer.com Radio host Frank Borelli and his guest, social media expert and columnist Christa M. Miller, as they discuss social media and law enforcement.  They'll take a look back at the history and evolution of social media, examine some types of social media that many of us don't think of as "social media", and how it's being used across the board by law enforcement agencies today.

Tune in Thursday, November 17th at 1pm eastern time.  Call in with any comments you have: 866-404-6519.  Officer Radio on Officer.com: every Thursday, 1pm eastern.
