TASER Intl. has introduced TASER Cam, an audio-video recording system for the TASER X26 conducted energy weapon. The TASER Cam includes a CMOS Imaging Sensor with both visible light and infrared capabilities, infrared illumination for image capture in total darkness, and lithium ion DPM battery system to power both the TASER X26 and TASER Cam. It also offers video storage capability in non-volatile flash memory and a cartridge bay to store a spare air cartridge. A MPEG 4 black and white imaging system provides clarity and 110 dB+ dynamic range, enabling the TASER Cam to capture images in bright sunlight, very low-light environments or total darkness utilizing the built-in infrared illuminator.
