June 19--Oxnard police said they conducted an undercover sting operation Monday in Superior Court, following people whose driver's licenses were suspended in court and arresting eight who still got behind the wheel.

Police said undercover officers attended the morning traffic court proceedings and watched a judge suspend or revoke licenses because of DUIs or other hazardous driving offenses and tell those people to not drive home.

Officers followed the offenders to the parking lot to make sure they followed the judge's orders, but eight of the 11 followed still got behind the wheel and began driving, police said.

Police stopped the offenders and arrested them. Their vehicles were towed and face 30-day impounds, police said.

Of the eight arrested, three were from Ventura, two from Camarillo, and one each from Oxnard, Woodland Hills and Santa Paula, police said.
