BAYONNE, N.J. -- An infant and three others are dead after a shooting in Bayonne, NJ, Monday night, according to Bayonne Mayor Mark Smith.
Smith announced that, according to preliminary reports, one shooter executed the infant and two others, before shooting himself.
Smith added that a fifth person was taken to Bayonne Medical Center with "non-life-threatening injuries." There were multiple children in the house at the time of the shooting, Smith said. A ten-month-old infant was killed; the other children were not physically injured.
"Anytime you see something like this it's tragic, and it's horrific, and it's horrendous," Smith said. "But it's a part of everyday life, unfortunately, in these times."
A police investigation is ongoing.
