What started as a fight became increasingly more violent.

Three people were hurt Sunday after what started as a fight became increasingly more violent.

According to the Louisa County Sheriff's, deputies arrived at a home in the 5800 block of Buckner Road just after midnight.

It appeared that Louisa resident Devonne Robinson, 23, shot Carlos Anderson, 31, in the chest. Police said Anderson, also from Louisa, returned fire, injuring Robinson. A female bystander was struck by a bullet in the right arm. She was later treated and released from VCU Medical Center in Richmond. The other victims were taken to U.Va. Medical Center in Charlottesville.

None of the injuries appear to be life-threatening at this time, police said.

It is still unclear, however, what started the altercation, but the case is under investigation and criminal charges are pending, police said.
