Bomb mitigating trash receptacles, models MTR 91 and MTR 101, from BlastGard International Inc., and produced in conjunction with Centerpoint Manufacturing Inc., reduce the pressure of a large charge from 60.47 PSI (100 percent fatal) to 7.5 PSI (eardrum damage) at 10 feet. BlastGard MTRs address many issues concerning bomb mitigation. They incorporate protective, blast-mitigating components, which suppress 85 percent of the original force. Furthermore, BlastGard MTR Trash Receptacles immediately extinguish the fireball and capture all fragments.
