Here are some of the stories you may have missed that ran on our site this week:

Weekend (Feb. 7-9)

During the manhunt for a former Los Angeles police officer turned killer last February, three San Bernardino Sheriff's deputies shared a strong bond.

Deputies Alex, Ryan and Matt Collins -- all three brothers -- were all involved in the manhunt that concluded on Feb. 12, 2013 in Big Bear, Calif.

Hundreds of people, many with dogs, gathered Friday to pay their respects to a fallen Pittsburgh police dog.

K-9 Rocco was fatally stabbed while attempting to apprehend a suspect last month.

Two employees of a western Michigan prison where a convicted killer escaped for 24 hours were suspended Friday.

The Corrections Department confirmed that they were related to investigation of how Michael Elliot managed to get out of the Ionia Correctional Facility.

Monday (Feb. 10)

Deputy Jonathan Scott Pine responded to a call for a "multiple vehicle burglary" and attempted to make contact with the suspect, who opened fire on him.

A man convicted in the shooting death of a U.S. Border Patrol agent during a shootout near the Arizona-Mexico border was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Manuel Osorio-Arellanes is the only person to be convicted in the Dec. 14, 2010 shooting death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.

A BART police sergeant killed by friendly fire reportedly asked his superiors to assign the department's SWAT team to take part in high-risk searches of residences to ensure safety.

Sgt. Tom Smith was fatally shot on Jan. 21 during a warrant search that turned tragic.

A recently announced policy change by the Philadelphia Police Department aims to improve communication between officers and transgender people.

Directive 152, is the first in the department's history that addresses how officers interact with the transgender community.

Tuesday (Feb. 11)

An alert Sacramento police officer tackled a suspect trying to flee on a stolen bicycle.

The officer can be seen on video taking down the suspect after he recognized the suspect from descriptions broadcast over the police radio.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol released a dash cam video from a pursuit last month that resulted in a fatal accident.

The Officials said that Bryan Lamm refused to stop for Cpl. Sonny Collins before he crashed.

A Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Donna who pulled over a Miami police officer in a cruiser in 2011 says she was harassed for doing her job.

Trooper Jane Watts is suing over claims her driver's license information was accessed by officers for numerous law enforcement agencies.

Wednesday (Feb. 12)

A detailed review of the firefight with former officer Christopher Dorner at a cabin in Big Bear, Calif. found that law enforcement officers violated no laws.

The 59-page report released by the San Bernardino County district attorney's office formally cleared more than three dozen officers from several law enforcement agencies who were involved in the standoff.

A Filer, Idaho police officer is under fire over the fatal shooting of a resident's dog that was captured on dashcam video.

Officer Tarek Hassani was placed on administrative leave following the shooting of a black Labrador on Saturday.

An Elkhart County, Ind. Sheriff’s reserve deputy is crying foul after he was fired from his job as a school grounds keeper after he brought his gun on school property.

Thursday (Feb. 13)

A slain Orange County, Fla. Sheriff's deputy left his job as a bank manager for a career in law enforcement after he followed a calling.

Deputy Jonathan Scott Pine, who was killed Monday night, had a feeling of helplessness knowing that rapists, thieves and killers were out there, and he could do nothing about it.

Stops attributed to the New York Police Department's "stop-and-frisk' tactic saw a sharp decline last year.

The number of stop and frisks by the NYPD continued to plummet in the fourth quarter of 2013, dropping by over 40 percent from the previous quarter.

The Torrance, Calif. Police Department's forensics unit is comprised completely of women and is being attributed in part to the "CSI" effect.

The department once used sworn officers to handle forensics duties, but in 2010 they were replaced by civilian experts with years of experience; many of them women.

Friday (Feb. 14)

The new "RoboCop" reboot hits theaters this week, and in honor of that occasion, it's good time to look back at the predictions made in the original 27 years ago.

The original movie made some bold predictions about future advances in law enforcement -- some of which actually came true.

If you forgot to buy something for that special someone, a Georgia sheriff has you covered.

Due to the bad weather in the region, Oconee County County Sheriff Scott Berry announced on the agency's Facebook page that those who live in a designated 'NO VALENTINE'S DAY ZONE' are exempt from gift giving until Feb. 18.
