Moving On...

March 1, 2009

"The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do." This quote from "Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy" sums up the place I am in right now.

Since I was 16 years old, I've wanted to operate my own photography studio. Today I'm finally doing it. I am moving on from my position as the editorial director of the Cygnus Law Enforcement Group to chase something that's been a dream of mine for some time.

Not only that, but as the owner of Garrett & Co. Studios, I have the rare opportunity of working side by side with my husband and my son, both of whom are photographers as well.

I've enjoyed every step of my journey with Cygnus Business Media. I am thankful for the many wonderful opportunities I've had and the men and women in blue whom I've come to know. All of you do an amazing service for the community each day, and I'm proud to say I have known you.

I would also like to thank the many supporters of both Law Enforcement Technology and Law Enforcement Product News during my 11 years here. I couldn't have done it without you.

I leave the Cygnus Law Enforcement Group in capable hands: that of Editor-in-Chief Frank Borelli, and the print editorial team, which consists of Tabatha Wethal, Sara Schreiber and Jonathan Kozlowski. I am confident that the future of the magazine rests well with them.

Best wishes to all of you. Thanks for everything. And above all, stay safe!
