An Ohio police officer was killed Monday in a crash on his way into work, according to reports.
Canton Police Officer Dave Wolgamott was heading in to start his shift just before 7 a.m. when the crash happened, Lt. Dennis Garren told WKYC-TV. Wolgamott was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
No details have been released regarding how the crash happened or if any other vehicles were involved. Investigators are looking into the incident.
Wolgamott had been with the department since 2006. Before joining the Canton force, he had served with the Lakemore, Strasburg and Bolivar police departments.
