Kan. Police Officer Killed During Domestic Violence Call

A Kansas police officer was shot and killed during a call late Saturday.

A Hays police officer was responding to a domestic violence call just before 11 p.m., the department stated in a news release. When the officer arrived at the scene, a suspect opened fire, and the officer was struck.

The officer was rushed to the hospital, where they succumbed to injuries. 

The suspect also was injured during the incident and was pronounced dead at the scene. No details were released on what led to the injuries.  

No additional suspects were being sought in connection with the incident. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation are looking into the shooting.
