A Polk County, Georgia police detective was fatally shot and two suspects were taken into custody Friday.
Detective Kristen Hearne was killed and another officer was shot a ballistic vest after authorities responded to an incident involving a stolen vehicle around 11 a.m. in the area of 123 Santa Claus Road in Cedartown, according to The Northwest Georgia News.
Brandon Spangler, who was wanted in the shooting, was taken into custody around 2:46 p.m. A female suspect was previously taken into custody.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
