McCrory Police Officer Robert Aaron Barker died Thursday morning after his patrol car collided with a deer.

A McCrory, Arkansas police officer died Thursday morning after his patrol car collided with a deer.

Officer Robert Aaron Barker was driving on Highway 17 around 5 a.m. in response to a call to assist a Woodruff County Sheriff,s deputy when the crash occured, according to KTHV.

The 26-year-old was transported to a hospital in Searcy where he was pronounced dead.

Barker was a four-year veteran of the McCrory Police Department.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
