Two Birmingham police officers were rushed to UAB Hospital after they were hit by a vehicle while on a traffic stop.

The crash happened about 12:30 a.m. in the 9700 block of Parkway East.

The injured officers were in separate vehicles when they were struck by an oncoming motorist.

The officers were rused to UAB Hospital in Birmingham via police escort and were alert when they left the scene.

Officer De’Rell Freeman said both sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

No additional information was immediately released.
