Two Oregon State Police troopers were seriously injured in a crash involving a tractor-trailer Monday.

The collision happened at around 7:30 a.m. on a highway exit ramp near The Dalles, KGW-TV reports. Two troopers in an Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife cruiser were responding to a crash with an unloaded log tractor-trailer.

While the troopers were investigating the incident, another tractor-trailer struck their cruiser. The semi's trailer was loaded as it traveling down an interstate exit ramp.

The troopers were rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, and they were in stable condition. K-9 was in the cruiser at the time and was taken to a veterinarian.

One of the tractor-trailer drivers also was taken to the hospital.

 
The crash is under investigation by The Dalles Police Department.
