They couldn’t be corralled.

Dozens of customers at a Golden Corral outside Philadelphia got into a no-holds-barred brawl last weekend, reportedly over a lack of steak.

The conflict included both chairs and punches being thrown while uninvolved customers scrambled to escape the madness. Golden Corral employees were eventually able to regain control of the restaurant as fighters filtered out.

Video of the melee went viral on social media, with many people questioning why the buffet-lovers would stake their safety on such a trivial inconvenience. (Warning: Linked videos contain explicit language)

Police said at least 40 people were involved in the Jan. 28 chair fight at the Golden Corral in Bensalem, about 15 miles northeast of Philadelphia, local CBS affiliate KYW reported. The restaurant’s owner said no one was seriously injured.

“There was a shortage of steak and two parties were involved, and one family cut in front of another family, they were taking their time. And they ran out of steak and it got into a heated exchange at the tables,” Gaven Lauletta, who posted video of the beef-related beef on Facebook, told KYW.

Cops are investigating the fracas.
